Every five years, a university-wide well-being survey is organized at UGent. This research examines the shortcomings regarding psychosocial well-being at UGent. The aim is to use these results to develop a policy designed to address these pain points and reduce the risk of psychosocial stress for everyone working at UGent.
On Monday, May 4, 2026, Pulso sent an email invitation to all UGent staff members to complete a survey regarding psychosocial well-being at work, entitled "How do you feel at work?". The deadline for completing the survey is Sunday, May 31, 2026.
You can complete the questionnaire using the link in the email from Pulso. You can also find this link in the reminder emails that will be sent by Pulso throughout this month to those who have not yet completed the survey. Please note: you cannot use the link in someone else's email, but only the link in the email you received yourself. Pulso uses this link to determine whether or not you have completed the survey.
Rest assured: the answers themselves are processed in complete confidentiality. Individual answers remain within Pulso and are not shared with anyone. The results shared with UGent after processing by Pulso will be on a collective level so that they cannot be traced back to individual persons in any way.
Given the purpose of this survey, it is extremely important that you answer all questions as truthfully as possible!
We call upon all our members to, should you not have done so yet, set aside 20 minutes of your time to complete this survey. You can do so until Sunday, May 31, 2026!
Why participate
We understand that some colleagues are disappointed following previous well-being surveys, which often revealed the same problems but where the experience was that too few effective actions were taken to arrive at concrete solutions.
Nevertheless, we believe it remains important to provide your input via this well-being survey.
On the one hand, this survey consistently provides a formal and irrefutable picture of the current situation in the various departments and services at UGent.
In addition, we await to see how the current new Rectoral Team will handle the results of this survey, and we look forward to a decisive approach and effective solutions for the identified problems.
Provide your feedback on the recent reorganization of the university services
The well-being survey also includes several open questions at the end, including a question about how colleagues experienced the recent reorganization of the university services.
This question offers the opportunity to indicate—in addition to any positive elements—what problems you may (still) be experiencing.
We call upon everyone - and particularly also all our colleagues within the university services - to make use of this opportunity, so that this survey shows clearly where adjustments are still needed and what these are.
