On Thursday, March 27, the Nationalist Student Association (NSV!) wants to organize a demonstration in Ghent, under the racist and hateful slogan “Generation Remigration – All foreign rapists outside!”.
This kind of hate speech has no place in Ghent. We will not allow far-right groups to poison our public space with fear and discrimination. That is why ABVV East Flanders, together with Hart boven Hard and more than 20 other civil society organizations, calls on people to come together on March 27 and show that Ghent is a city of solidarity.
A parade and a party are organized in which we celebrate what Ghent really stands for: a warm, supportive and inclusive community. We also urge the city council not to give permission for this demonstration and to consistently adhere to the principles of the Ghent Administrative Agreement: a city without racism and discrimination, where everyone counts and can be themselves.
We meet on March 27 at 6:30 PM in the Rabotpark in Ghent. We walk together to the Stadshal where we end with a musical party (from around 8:30 PM to 10 PM)!
