International Women's Day takes place on Friday, March 8, 2024. Like every year, UGent Feminist Strike (until last year known as UGent Women's Strike) is organizing an action at our university that day, with the support of ACOD UGent.
In addition, a demonstration for women's rights will also be held that evening.
Below you will find the details of both of these promotions.

A University should care! - Ghent University Feminist Strike
This promotion will take place starting at 12 noon in the car park of the rectorate at Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 25 in Ghent. The program is as follows:
- 12 noon: gather at the RECTORATE (Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 25)
- 12:30 PM: welcome and speeches
- 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: feminist teach-in and workshops
- 2:30 PM - 3 PM: joint conclusions

Demonstration for women's rights
The start and end point of this promotion is at the Vrijdagmarkt in Ghent. The program is as follows:
- 5:30 PM: Friday market meeting
- 6 PM: start of the event
- 7 PM - 8 PM: speeches
- Closing event: party at Trefpunt + pancakes in the women's café in the Store (on the ground floor of the ABVV building on the Vrijdagmarkt - until 10 PM).
