The local Masereelfonds Ghent department will start this spring with a cycle on Marx in collaboration with the Moral and Philosophy Circle.

Under the heading Marx for Millennials, we plan an explanation and discussion in March, April and May. In the box at the bottom of this article you will find the information text, the dates and the themes. We also want to program and further develop this cycle thematically in the autumn. We start with the basics.

Interested in coming? It would be nice if you were there.

Marx 4 Millennials

Marxism is primarily a method of analysis, a way of understanding the world politically, socially and economically. An analysis method that must be applied in an open and non-dogmatic manner (which unfortunately has not always happened in the past), and can of course also be supplemented with many other insights.

With this cycle, we and Masereelfonds Ghent focus on committed people who want to understand the world better. A confrontation with Marx's texts, his conceptual framework and his focus on social forces and contradictions is important for the broad progressive left.

We won't beat around the bush, the starting point is a classic explanation (max. 1 hour) that guides us through Marx's thinking and his methods of analysis. During our first series of three evenings this spring we will focus on the basics: a general situation. As a speaker we always welcome someone with a long-standing intellectual bond with the work of Marx. We provide plenty of time for discussion, questions and discussion.
